One teacher can oversee the project but will need to make sure the other disciplines have covered topics in their classes, such as reading statistics in mathematics. Since this project has a large history focus, a history teacher would most likely take the lead. Ideally, this could become a much larger project with multiple teachers covering the topics in their classes-- the mathematics teacher, the family and consumer science teacher, the history teacher, and the English teacher. However, the one teacher can oversee the specific project fairly easily. While it would be very enlightening and interesting for the students to visit a museum with a World War II exhibit, that is not necessary for the completion of this particular project. As a unit though, we would highly encourage the field trip!
